Flags will be flown at half staff in Iowa on Friday in honor of 25-year-old, U.S. Army Sergeant Michael Ristau of Cascade Iowa. Sgt. Ristau was killed on July 13, 2012 in Afghanistan after the vehicle he was riding in was attacked by an improvised explosive device.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday in Cascade. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, of Tacoma, Wash., and two sons; his parents, Randy and Suzanne Ristau of Cascade, and other family members.
