City leaders celebrated a ribbon cutting Friday morning at Davenport's City Hall.

Some major improvements were done to the building, including renovations to fix the north wall. Time and the elements had caused it to become dilapidated, creating a health concern for both employees and the public.

Other improvements include better storm drainage and a new courtyard. Mayor Gluba is proud of the renovation.

"It's an improvement the public will appreciate and you know when dealing with public buildings you have to do it right. These improvements are made to last generations and so future people can come down here and say they did a great job at creating that little courtyard."

Over $800,000 was spent in the restoration.
