The Whiteside County Sheriff Dept is investigating a traffic accident involving a car verses motorcycle. The accident occurred at the intersection of Sand road and Moline road in rural Erie on Wednesday at 4:05 p.m.
The accident occurred when a motorcycle driven by 60-year-old Michael Wolf of rural Erie was traveling eastbound on Moline road. Wolf was being followed by a car driven by Beau Kirkpatrick, 22yrs, of Erie.
When Wolf slowed to make a left turn onto Sand road, Kirkpatrick failed to slow down and struck the rear of his motorcycle. Wolf was injured as a result of the accident and taken to Illini Hospital in Silvis. Kirkpatrick was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
