Homeowners in Clinton, Iowa were hard at work Sunday, cleaning up a mess of branches and fallen trees left behind by heavy winds and thunderstorms the day before. While the whole Quad City area was affected, Clinton was the hardest hit, with winds reaching up to 80 miles per hour.

"It has been 20 hours, actually 22 hours now without power, we have no phone, no air conditioning, and no TV to watch the Olympics. We have nothing," Homeowner Betty Hibler said.

While most of Clinton's power had been restored, the Hibler family was still without thanks to fallen trees resting all over their power line. The family even had two trees blocking their driveway at one point.

Tree trimmer's were on the scene working to clear the lines so power could be turned back on. Meanwhile, the family's regular groundskeeper picked up what branches he could. That was something the Hardy family also spent the day doing. A massive tree in their yard crashed onto their neighbors garage.

"We picked up what we could that's not the big damage, were waiting for insurance adjustors before we can start our own clean-up," Nicholle Hardy said.

The tree landed nearly ten feet away from where it originally stood and because of it's size it could be awhile before it is picked up.

"By the sounds of it from the tree company that we have checked with, a crane will have to come in and lift the tree up because it's so enormous," Hardy said.

However, until then caution tape around the area will have to do.

"It's been very shocking for everyone how bad the storm was."
