SPRING VALLEY, Ill. - Students and faculty at Hall High School in Spring Valley, Illinois are mourning the death of a student football player who died during practice Wednesday.
The school's website identifies the student as Daniel Lule. The school says Lule "was a wonderful young man who was a Red Devil through and through."
Spring Valley Police say Lule, 17, collapsed during football practice Wednesday about 20 minutes after practice had started. Players were running a "non-contact agility drill" at the time. No other information is being made available.
Hall High School will provide grief counselors at the school Thursday and Friday to help students, parents and friends deal with Lule's death.
The school says Lule "will be greatly missed by the entire Hall High School family, especially his friends and teammates."
