A Davenport man sustained a potentially fatal head injury late Saturday night while driving a go-cart.
Police say George Cooper, 46, was traveling westbound in the 3600 block of Hickory Grove Road around 11:30 Saturday night. Cooper lost control of the go-cart and rolled it. He was thrown from the vehicle and according to police sustained what is "considered a life threatening head injury" along with other internal injuries.
Police are still investigating and say it is not known what caused Cooper to lose control of the go-cart. He was initially taken to Genesis East Hospital but was then transferred to Iowa City Hospitals for treatment.
