Davenport Police are investigating a theft at Great River Brewery in Davenport. Employees say an 800 pound canning machine and some other smaller items were stolen. There was no damage to the building itself. But with this major piece of equipment missing, it puts a dent in the company's beer production.

Tyler Krutzfeldt, a Great River Brewery employee, says the business will get by. "We have cans and we have kegs that our beer goes in to. So normally, we have a certain amount of kegs. About 40 percent goes in there and about 60 percent is in cans. Now that we don't have that we have to produce 100 percent of our beer in kegs."

The canning machine is valued between $70,000 and $100,000. Police believe the thief used a forklift for the job. It was found in the alley behind the building.
