Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is holding a campaign event in Bettendorf Wednesday. The campaign stop will be held at Le Claire Manufacturing at 2727 62nd Street Court. This is Romney's second stop in the Quad Cities this summer and this latest event is considered a critical stop for the presidential candidate.

"Scott County in Eastern Iowa is a swing county," says Scott County Republicans Chairwoman Judy Davidson, "President Obama was here last week and Governor Romney will be here twice, this will be his second visit in the last couple of months."

With Scott County and all of Iowa being a swing state, having presidential candidates visit is important.

"We are getting closer to election day it is important that more and more candidates come visit us in Scott County," adds Davidson, "Voters are starting to look a little bit more critically at candidates and decide who they're going to vote for in November."'

Mitt Romney's visit to Le Claire Manufacturing, which makes aluminum castings for a variety of industries, has Scott County Republicans preparing. They promote the campaign stop on their website, Facebook and help people register for tickets. Volunteers are also are needed to work the event and drive in the motorcade.

"There are a number of things we do to get ready for an event like this as well. We have great volunteers who we rely on that devote a great number of hours to help with details for events like this," says Davidson.

Davidson adds having Romney visit the Quad Cities make it's easier to promote him and the campaign to undecided voters. One of the biggest reasons to get excited for campaign events is it puts the Quad Cities in the national spotlight.

"It indicates also that the candidates know also that Scott County is a critical county in terms of their votes for the November election, it's very important," says Davidson.

The event is this Wednesday at Le Claire Manufacturing in Bettendorf. Doors open at 10 that morning and the event will begin at noon. It is open to the public, but you have to have a ticket. You can order at ticket on Romney's campaign website.
