The future of Rhythm City Casino continues to move slowly forward.
Isle of Capri gave its latest update to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission this morning.
Negotiations between the casino and a potential buyer have taken some steps.
The Isle of Capri says it received some comments from the potential buyer.
After negotiations between Davenport, the Riverboat Development Authority, and the developer took place in June.
The casino company says it responded to those comments immediately.
And tells the Racing and Gaming Commission that it's waiting to hear back from the buyer.
This has been a long process for Davenport, which began looking for a new casino operator back in 2005.
The city council approved entering a two year agreement with developer MSEG two years ago, that agreement is set to expire this November.
The commission didn't have anything to say about the sale update.
But it did ask Isle of Capri why the company had only spent a small amount of money on improvements to the riverboat in 2011.
The casino representative said that was a business decision.
