Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to impact our gas prices. In anticipation of the storm, oil companies have evacuated their rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.
Experts estimate 75 to 90 percent of the gulf oil production could be shut down. When the markets open Monday morning, oil prices could spike and that can quickly translate into higher prices at the gas pump.
According to AAA's Monday morning fuel gauge report, the average price for a gallon of regular is $3.67 in the Iowa Quad Cities. In the Illinois Quad Cities it's $3.87. The national average is now up to $3.75.
