UPDATE: Police say they have arrested 31-year-old Ceneca Johnson of Davenport. The suspect was spotted around 10:09 a.m. in an area with dense foliage, near the 2000 block of East 12th Street. Police say he made an attempt to run but was apprehended. According to the police report, the gun and stolen money were retrieved.
Johnson was on a work-release from the Iowa Department of Corrections Residential Correction Facility at 605 Main St., Davenport, Iowa. He's been charged with Robbery and Parole Violation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Original story: A man is in custody after a bank robbery at Southeast National Bank in the Village of East Davenport. The bank is located at 2036 East River Drive. Police got the call around 9:45 a.m. Monday.
Investigators say the man went into the bank, showed a handgun and demanded money. According to officers with the Davenport Police Department, he got an undisclosed amount of cash, then left and started walking behind the bank. Officers say the suspect eventually ran into nearby woods, but officers were able to find him. They arrested him in the 2000 block of East 12th Street.
