The Quad City International Airport Commission has given approval for a new hotel on the airport grounds. According to Frontier Hospitality Group, the commission approved a ground lease for 3 acres north of the terminal building and west of the Hampton Inn.

Frontier plans to build a new 100 room hotel on the site, if financing and licensing with a national chain come through. FHG anticipates the total project investment will be in the $10 to $12 million range.

Frontier Hospitality Group is owned by Bart Baker and Dan Huber. FHG owns and operates the Best Western Plus SteepleGate Inn in Davenport, the Best Western Plus Dubuque Hotel & Conference Center and formerly owned and operated the Best Western Frontier Inn and Country Inn and Suites in Clinton, Iowa.
