A jewelry heist and a two state car chase sounds like something right out of the movies, but that's exactly what police say happened Tuesday morning in West Burlington, Iowa.

West Burlington Police and Des Moines County Sheriff's Deputies were called to Westland Mall in West Burlington around 3:49 a.m. According to reports, Riddle's Jewelry and Kay's Jewelry were both broken into and an undisclosed amount of merchandise was taken.

Law enforcement in the area located a suspicious vehicle leaving the mall and began to follow them. The suspects took off, running a red light at Gear Street.

The chase continued east on Highway 34 into Illinois where Warren County Deputies and Monmouth, Ill. Police joined in.

The pursuit finally ended when Stop Sticks were deployed and the suspects tires were flattened. The vehicle was stopped about a mile west of Monmouth.

Police say that before the vehicle was stopped, officers witnessed the suspects throwing items out of the car window. Police were able to recover them and match them to the items stolen in the burglary.

Arrested were, 31-year-old Chanita Lynette Reid of Grand Blanc, Michigan, charged with Aiding and Abetting Burglary 3rd; 39-year-old Ramone Miguel Cook of Flint, Michigan, charged with Burglary 3rd, Theft 2nd and Criminal Mischief; and 39-year-old Stanley Maurice from Coralville, Iowa, charged with Burglary 3rd, Theft 2nd and Criminal Mischief. All were being held on $5,000 bond
