Update: Road Closure, 7th Avenue between 20th and 23rd Streets Demolition will be on Thursday instead of Wednesday.
From the City of Rock Island:
On Wednesday, September 5, 2012, 7th Avenue between 20th and 23rd Streets will be closed to traffic due to the demolition of the Lincoln School building. This closure will begin at 7:00 a.m. and normal traffic will resume after the work is completed around 4:00 p.m.
7th Avenue traffic will be detoured to 9th Avenue, between 20th and 23rd Streets. Please follow construction signs for directions and detours. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zone.
The City of Rock Island is sorry for any inconvenience due to this road closure and appreciates the patience and consideration of the traveling public.
