Drivers are anxiously waiting for gas prices to drop. The latest Lundberg survey shows prices have jumped eight cents in the past two weeks.

The average price for a gallon of regular is now $3.83, according to Monday morning's AAA fuel gauge report. Drivers in Chicago would prefer to pay that price. The average in Chicago is $4.25.

Here in the Quad Cities, the average for a gallon of regular is $3.74 on the Iowa side. On the Illinois side it's higher, like usual because of higher taxes. The average for a gallon of regular on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities is $3.99.
