People using River Drive in Davenport Monday morning found it was slow-going. The section from Iowa to Oneida Streets partially re-opened Friday evening after being closed for months. There's now one lane open in each direction.

Monday was the first morning many drivers started taking River Drive to work again. They experienced a slow commute that featured a lot of brake lights.

Crews are working on a multi-million dollar resurfacing project on Davenport's River Drive. They still have work to do from Iowa to Oneida, but they say they can get it done with traffic using two of the lanes.

The next phase of work goes from Bridge to Mounds Streets. That's expected to take four to five weeks. The final phase goes from Mound Street to the Eastern city limits. City officials tell us River Drive will remain open during that work.
