GALESBURG, Illinois – Police say a Galesburg man charged with DUI had a blood alcohol content of .368, which is more than four times Illinois' legal limit of .08.

Ronald McNeeley, 30, was arrested Tuesday while driving a 1997 Buick Le Sabre. The police report states that a responding officer "immediately noticed that [McNeeley's] eyes were very bloodshot even before making contact with him."

The report states McNeeley admitted having "a couple of beers" earlier in the evening and that he was willing to take a Breathalyzer test. The Breathalyzer was administered after McNeely had failed multiple field sobriety tests and been taken to police headquarters, according to the report.

The .368 blood alcohol content police say McNeely registered is enough to cause "unconsciousness" and possible "death" according to a publication by the University of Rochester.
