Davenport Police say a school bus was involved in a hit and run crash Thursday morning at the intersection of Clark and Heatherton. According to police, the bus was turning left onto Heatherton. They say the suspect's car was east bound on Heatherton when it ran the stop sign and hit the bus.
Police describe the car as being a gray older Volkswagen. They also say it likely has front end damage on the driver's side.
According to the school district, the bus had six kindergartners on board and was on it's way to Buchanan School when the accident happened. School officials say emergency crews responded and parents were called to the scene. The kids were offered to be taken to the hospital, but all of the parents declined.
The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at 309-762-9500.
