Hundreds of jobs are coming to the Quad Cities.

APAC currently employs just over 1,000 people at the location in Davenport, and with the addition of a new 6,000 square foot facility, the company is looking to hire about 500 new employees right here in the Quad Cities.

Debra Hardie has been looking for a job all summer, but the job search ended Friday when she got hired at APAC.

"It's a long process, getting your resume prepared and long process sitting at the computer for hours applying online," she says of the job search, "It's absolutely amazing how well this has come about."

Hardie is just one of the hundreds of new hires that will become customer service reps at APAC in the upcoming months.

"This is huge for Davenport," APAC Senior Recruiter Shannon Corley says, "We have over 500 positions to fill between now and the end of the year."

The company is adding on employees after taking on a new client and expanding into a new call center. They're looking to hire locally, with hourly rates starting between 8.50 and 9.50 an hour with benefits.

"It's huge, I know there are so many people in the community that are without work right now, and I think this is an excellent opportunity for them," Corley says, "It's an excellent opportunity for people looking for work."

Since the company started hiring, reps say about 20 people are walking through their doors every day to apply.

"I would encourage people to come in as soon as possible, because these will go fast," Corley says.

Reps are hoping the boost helps ease the unemployment rate in the Quad Cities, right now at around 7.3 percent.

"Our unemployment is still high, and I think we're going to have a big impact on that number," Corley says.

The company will finish the addition by the end of September and hope to fill all the positions by the end of this year.
