DAVENPORT, Iowa – A Davenport man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in the 400 block of Waverly Road.
Police say Martin Eason, 23, of Davenport was on foot when he was killed by a vehicle traveling northbound at 4:18 AM Saturday. The collision occurred at the intersection of Telegraph Road. Police say Eason was struck after he "suddenly appeared from the west side of Waverly Road."
The car was driven by Dale Varner, 46, of Davenport. Police say alcohol was not involved and no charges have been filed.
Eason was a 2007 graduate of Bettendorf High School. His Facebook page indicates he also attended Scott Community College.
