A Davenport company formally opened a building addition Monday that will help house 500 new employees.

Officials with APAC Customer Services, Inc. cut the ribbon to the 5,800 expansion to its facility at 250 E. 90th St. APAC is also holding a job fair to help fill those positions.

Most of the full-time jobs are for customer service and technical support. The company says there are also some management positions. The job fair at APAC continues until 7 Monday night.

According to the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, with the new hires, total employment at APAC will be more than 1,500. It estimates the expansion will generate $11 million in new direct payroll, 143 additional indirect jobs with a total economic impact of $36.5 million per year.
