Two people were arrested on drug charges in Kewanee, Ill., on Monday September 24, 2012. The Kewanee Police Department Street Crimes Unit and the Blackhawk Area Task Force conducted a search warrant and a "buy-bust operation" in 200 block of North Grove Street.

According to the police report, the drug operations resulted in the arrest of two individuals. In addition, law enforcement agents also seized a 2001 Dodge Durango, 1.8 grams of cocaine, 25 grams of cannabis, and several items of drug paraphernalia.

Kandy St. Dennis, 51, of Kewanee was arrested on the preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1000 feet of Irving school, possession of cannabis 10 to 30 grams within intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis 10 to 30 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1000 feet of a school is a class X felony and carries a potential sentence of 6 to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Noah Freeman, 27, of Aurora, Illinois was arrested on two counts of criminal drug conspiracy and a single count of delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of Irving school. Freeman also is charged with a class X felony. Both subjects are being held at the Henry County Jail.

According to the police report, St. Dennis and Freeman both appeared before a Judge on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Bond for St. Dennis was set at $100,000. Bond for Freeman was set at $250,000. Preliminary hearings for both St. Dennis and Freeman are scheduled for Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Henry County Courthouse.
