Camanche Police arrested five people on meth charges over the weekend Arrested were 59-year-old Charles McKenrick, 32-year-old Kimberly Lane, 33-year old Nathan Green and 42-year old David Shamp, junior,

Just before 10:00 Monday night, the Davenport Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding shots fired near the 2000 block of W. 4th Street. The callers described the scene, saying they saw an individual with a gun, chasing two others in the alley between 4th & 5th Street.

Police responded to the scene and after an investigation say it all started as a drug deal that went bad.

According to the police report, 28-year-old Kevin Green was attempting to purchase marijuana from two individuals in the alley between 4th & 5th Street, in the 2000 block. After handing over $220, Green realized he was not getting his marijuana and produced a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The two individuals with the money took off running, with Green chasing them and firing several shots at them.

Police say Green then ran back to an awaiting car, occupied by 19-year-old David Schmidt. They immediately drove to his residence at 231 S. Pine St., dropped the gun off and then returned to the scene.

At that point, police say Green entered a house that the two individuals with the money escaped into, 2019 W. 5th St., located both individuals and began assaulting them. They say Green received minor injuries during the altercation and was taken to Genesis East Hospital, received treatment, then was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail.

Police say a search warrant was executed at the Pine Street residence and a 9mm semi-automatic Ruger handgun was confiscated.

According to police, 20-year-old Zachery Labarre was one of the two individuals chased by Green in the alley and was shot at. The second individual is not being identified at this time, but say charges are pending on that individual.

The Davenport Police say Kevin Green was booked at the Scott County Jail with the following charges; Assault - Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, a Class "C" Felony; Burglary - 2nd Degree, a Class "C" Felony; and Conspiracy/Commit a Felony - a Class "D" Felony.

David Schmidt and Zachery Labarre were both booked at the Scott County Jail and both were charged with Conspiracy/Commit a Felony - a Class "D" Felony.
