The first in a string of bank robberies happened exactly six weeks ago today.

Monday, August 20, 2012, the Wells Fargo Bank branch inside the HyVee on Avenue of the Cities in Moline, Ill., was robbed. The suspect was wearing a baseball hat, sunglasses and an unbelievably fake beard.

Since then, the beard disappeared, but the robber didn't. Two other banks inside local HyVee grocery store were robbed in similar fashion.

The Valley Bank branch inside the HyVee on Devil's Glenn Road in Bettendorf, Iowa was hit on September 14, 2012.

The most recent heist happened last Wednesday , September 26, 2012, when the American Bank inside the HyVee in Milan, Ill., was robbed.

Police say the suspect in all of the robberies had a consistent method of operation and seemed to be the same suspect. Now, police are saying the criminal appears to be even more prolific.

Police say a series of bank robberies in Edwardsville and Collinsville, Ill., and Janesville and Kenosha, Wis., seem to be connected to the Quad City suspect.

If anyone can identify the individual, they are asked to call the Moline Police Department at (309) 797-0401 or Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at (309) 762-9500.
