"We are closed." That's how a small paper sign explains the locked door at a popular Davenport business.

America's Incredible Pizza Company offered an all-you-can-eat buffet and a variety of family entertainment like, mini-bowling, mini-golf, bumper cars and laser tag. It was a popular place for birthday parties and special occasions and gauging from the parking lot, appeared to be busy. But after just a little more than two years, it's out of business.

Back in March of 2010, a long line formed outside the former Eagle Food grocery store on E. Kimberly Rd. as people waited to apply for the 140 jobs being offered. The Davenport location would become the company's 18th in the U.S.

A hearing was held in Scott County Court on Tuesday and immediately following that hearing, the business closed. The family fun center owes its landlord at least $227,000 in rent. The debt started piling up in April of 2011.

On Wednesday, employees showed up, only to find out they were out of a job. Some of them received a text message that said, "Thank you for your hard work. We will be closing as of tomorrow. This is not a joke."

"They should have put notices up if they were going to close, maybe two weeks prior to closing." said Barbara Duncan, who was surprised by the closure.

According to a statement from corporate, employees will be offered jobs at other American Incredible Pizza locations. Deposits for group events and parties will also be returned, but it could take up to a month. If you have an Incredible Pizza game card, you can use it at another location. The closest one is in Urbandale, Iowa.
