IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa Hawkeyes senior cornerback Micah Hyde was arrested early Saturday morning on charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Hyde was arrested at 2:50 AM in downtown Iowa City.  He was still in the custody of the Johnson County Jail as of Saturday 10:30 AM.  An official at the Johnson County Jail told KWQC TV6 that Hyde faces a $397.50 fine.

The Hawkeyes do not play this weekend; the team's next game is next Saturday against Michigan State in East Lansing, Michigan.

According to the Iowa Hawkeyes football website, Hyde played both cornerback and free safety during 2011.  He holds the eighth and 10th longest interception returns in school history and is tied for first in the Big Ten in passes defended (11) and tied for eighth in interceptions (three) in 2011.

Hyde, from Fostoria, Ohio, is a team captain for the Hawkeyes.
