Get ready to pay a little more when you send snail mail. The U.S. Postal Service just announced a rate increase for stamps. Starting January 27th, the cost of a stamp will go up a penny to 46 cents.

The postal service will also introduce a global forever stamp for first class mail. The new stamp will allow customers to mail letters anywhere in the world for one set price of $1.10. That's up from the old 85 cents to Canada and Mexico and $1.05 to other destinations.
