UPDATE 10-15-12: Davenport police report the autopsy for Mario Lira was performed Monday and the pathologist's preliminary findings support evidence found at the scene and police interviews. Police say at this time, it appears Lira shot himself by accident.  Police also say alcohol was involved, but they are waiting for the toxicology report.

PREVIOUS UPDATE:  DAVENPORT, Iowa - Police have identified the victim as Mario Lira, 36.  His city of residence is unknown, but police say he did not live at the residence where the shooting occurred on 16th Street.

Davenport Police say that there were "a number of people in the residence at the time of the shooting and some had left before our arrival."  Witnesses are being interviewed.

Police say the fatal shooting "may have been an accidental discharge."

DEVELOPING NEWS: Davenport Police say one man was killed during a shooting Friday night. Police responded to a shots fired call on the 1600 block of 16th street. They found a man with a gun shot wound to the head. Authorities are investigating the incident.
