AMES, Iowa - Rock legend Bruce Springsteen will appear Thursday in Ames for a free performance in support of President Obama.

Ticket information, the timing and exact location of the event are yet to be announced.  Springsteen will also appear in Ohio on behalf of Mr. Obama the same day.

"Bruce Springsteen's values echo what the President and Vice President stand for: hard work, fairness, integrity," said Jim Messina, Obama-Biden campaign manager.  "His appearances will help with our get out the vote effort in these critical swing states and we are thrilled with his ongoing support."

According to one news report, when Springsteen appeared in downtown Cleveland at an Obama rally in 2008, the event drew 80,000 people.
