The Rock Island County 4-H Team took top honors during the Keystone International Livestock Exposition Collegiate and Junior Livestock Judging contests on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Exposition Center in Harrisburg, Pa.
Teams traveled from across the country to compete in the contest that consisted of twenty-one collegiate, 4-H and FFA teams, including 103 individuals. These individuals judged five classes of cattle, four classes of swine, and three classes of sheep. Collegiate individuals presented reasons on eight classes and 4-H and FFA members presented reasons on four classes and answered questions on two classes.
Illinois 4-H was the highest scoring junior team with 2,448 points. The team representing Rock Island County 4-H consisted of Dayton Coyne, Milan, IL; Jacob Baker, Prophetstown, IL; Carson Hank, Aledo, IL; Tyson Schulte, Milan, IL; Gage Hank, Aledo, IL; and Coaches J.D. Schulte, Milan, IL and Andy Roth, Eldridge, IA. The team had high scores in swine and reasons.
Tyson Schulte also received the top individual honors for the junior contest by scoring 838 points. He was a top five individual for cattle, swine, sheep and reasons.

2. Kentucky FFA, 2,433 points
3. Maryland 4-H, 2,420 points
4. Pennsylvania 4-H, 2,416 points
5. Virginia 4-H, 2,412 points

1. Tyson Schulte, Illinois 4-H, 838 points
2. Jacob Embry, Kentucky FFA, 825 points
3. Alana Eisenhour, Pennsylvania 4-H, 825 points
4. Jared Harshman, Maryland 4-H, 824 points
5. Taylor Joyner, North Carolina, 823 points
The Keystone International Livestock Exposition is the largest livestock show on the East Coast, featuring more than 3,500 animals, including beef cattle, horses, sheep and pigs.
