The former Dixon, Ill., comptroller was back in court on Monday, October 22, 2012. Even though Rita Crundwell is accused of stealing millions, she asked for a public defender.

Crundwell appeared in Lee County court Monday to face 60 additional charges of Felony Theft. She is already facing a federal charge of Illegal Wire Transfer in a case that accuses her of bilking $53 Million from Dixon over a number of years.

The U.S. Marshals Service has been liquidating her assets, which includes 400 horses, several homes and a luxury motorhome.

In her latest court appearance, Crundwell was assigned a public defender. No bond was set, since she's already under federal custody.

Crundwell is scheduled to be back in state court next week.
