Revitalizing the Quad Cities area one neighborhood at a time. Many cities are stepping up efforts to revamp certain areas and Rock Island is no different. Monday night the city is holding a public meeting to gather input on the future of one district.
City leaders are asking residents, business owners, any interested stake holders in the Arsenal Gateway area to come to a public meeting to talk about concerns and ideas of the future for the neighborhood. There have been changes in the last couple of years with the Jackson Square apartments re-development and a couple new businesses, including Bent River Brewery. The plan is to now look into more opportunities to capitalize on the area's proximity to the Rock Island Arsenal, whether it's attracting more new businesses and industry or residential development.
The meeting is a at 7 o'clock in the Jackson Square community room. The city also has a survey up online that is available until November 21st. Click here for more information on the Arsenal Gateway revitalization plan.
