Burlington: Police Capture Suspect In Multiple Burglaries

Update: On Monday October 29, 2012 the Burlington Police Department obtained nine additional arrest warrants for Dustin James Albright in connection with several burglaries that had taken place during the month of October.

The arrest warrants are for burglaries which occurred at the following locations: Hopefully Yours, Big River Popcorn Company, Moto's Café, Grace United Methodist Church, Foursquare Gospel Church, Los Charros Restaurant, Billups Tire and Muffler, St. John Baptist Church, and Steve's Place Tavern.

Each warrant carries a $5,000 bond. Albright is being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center on $65,000 bond.

Original: Police in Burlington, Iowa say they have arrested a man responsible for over a dozen burglaries in the month of October. A call came in early Monday morning, October 29, 2012.

At around 2:30 a.m., the Burlington Police Department responded to Big Muddy's Restaurant, located at 710 Front Street regarding a burglary that had just taken place.

When officers arrived, they spotted a man walking away from the area. The man was identified as 24-year-old Burlington, Iowa resident, Dustin James Albright.

Police say during the course of the investigation at Big Muddy's Restaurant, they realized The Drake Restaurant, located at 106 Washington Street, had also been broken into.

During the interview, police say Albright made admissions to his involvement regarding the two burglaries. Police also say Albright made admissions to his involvement into at least eleven other recent burglaries in the Burlington area during the month of October.

Authorities say Albright has been initially charged with two counts of Burglary In The Third Degree, each a class D felony. He is currently being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center on $20,000 cash only bond.
