There are twelve different theme rooms where you encounter various creatures. This haunted grandstand is known as Feargrounds, and it is a Halloween attraction at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport.

There are narrow hallways with twists and turns. Characters who jump out at you. The element of surprise lurks throughout the haunted halls.

You will encounter the Boogey Man, a masked marauder, clowns, and who knows what else. Organizer Rod Keding says plans for Feargrounds were in the works back in June. Each room was built individually.

Some people who enter Feargrounds can only take so much. Keding says about five people a night do not continue. They want out because of the fear factor. They jump or are terrified. Keding says the goal is to give people the ultimate haunted house experience.

So far, a few thousand people have gone through the haunted grandstand. Admission is ten dollars. It is open on Halloween from 7-10pm. Keding jokingly refers to it as Nightmare on Locust Street.
