Vice President Makes Surprise Stop in Davenport

Updated:

It was a surprise stop in Davenport with lights, sirens and helicopters flying overhead. The security detail, because Vice President Joe Biden is in town, and talking to volunteers at the Democratic Field Office.

"Hey, do you know why we're going to win?" Biden asked the crowd of several dozen, telling them, "It's because of you all." The Vice President says the difference in this election is going to be on the ground, and local workers are giving the Obama/Biden team the best ground game there is.

He says, "We know that a lot of you have basically put your lives on hold for us. Some of you have been doing this for a long, long time and this is not your first rodeo. You know what you're doing, you know, that really matters."

Biden says this is our country's most important election. It will determine the course of our next four years. "It's not about Barack and me, it really is about a fundamental choice the country's making."

It's something he will talk more about Thursday in Muscatine. The Vice President will be at West Middle School. Doors open at 10 am. Tickets are required and will be available on site.
