Thirty one year old Jennifer White of Bettendorf is taking action to make sensible and heart healthy changes in her lifestyle. Jennifer works out three days a week at Curves. Her workout is a combination of a cardio exercise and strength training.

In July, Jennifer's nine year old daughter was diagnosed with a heart murmur. That, and the fact that there is a history of heart disease in her family, motivated Jennifer to take action.

She has changed her diet, eating healthier foods. She made a commitment to return to an exercise program where she stretches every major muscle group in her body.

The results are impressive. She has lost five inches in her body mass and five pounds in the three weeks that she has returned to a regular exercise routine. She is sleeping better and feels much more energetic at the end of the day.

Jennifer will be participating in the Go Red For Women Luncheon at the RiverCenter in Davenport on November 7th. It is presented by Trinity Regional Health System, and promotes cardiovascular research and education for women.

Stroke and heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States. The event will be a wonderful opportunity for women tio learn ways to take charge of their own heart health.

Tickets are 35 dollars. Doors open at 10:30am. Last year, 550 women attended the event.
