Update:

According to police, the two people shot early Saturday are still in the hospital. 31-year-old Jasman Clark was found outside her home on W. 14th St. and is being treated at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. The person found wounded inside Clark's home has been identified as 30-year-old Marques Jones of Davenport.  No information on their condition is being released and police say they are still investigating.

Earlier report:

Two people are hurt and one man is behind bars, charged with attempted murder, after what neighbors call a party gone horribly wrong.

Police say they were called to a home in the 1300 block of West 14th Street in Davenport just before 4:00 AM for a report of shots being fired. They say they found one person in the front yard with a bullet wound to the head. Another inside the home had been shot in the leg. Neighbors tell us they heard five gunshots ring out on their typically quiet street and many are on edge.

"Quite a bit of fear, considering at first I thought it was a fire work and it ended up being gunshots," said one neighbor, who did not want to be identified.

He says as soon as he realized someone was firing off a gun he tried to take cover.

"We ran in the house to get out of harms way."

However, before the pop of gunfire he heard people yelling, an unknown warning sign.

"You could tell there was some sort of party going on because there was a lot of people screaming and arguing and music, we thought cops were going to show up anyway because of a lot of noise," the neighbor said.

He says after the shots rang out some people jumped in a car and drove off.

"They got in this vehicle put it in reverse and backed up very quickly backed up this way on Filmore and went towards 15th Street very, very quick."

Nearly a dozen police cars and even two fire trucks soon flooded the street blocking it off. The two victims were taken away in ambulances.

"You could hear people screaming and you knew someone was harmed, if not more than one."

The neighbor says the sound and scene was unsettling, a scary night for many people on his street.

"First time I've heard anything like that in my life."

Both victims were taken to area hospitals, one of them then sent on to Iowa City. Police say the head wound is a life-threatening injury. No word on either person's condition at this hour. Meantime, 20 year-old Ezra James is in the Scott County Jail tonight. The Chicago man is charged with attempted murder and assault with willful injury.
