UPDATE: On Wednesday morning, November 28th, 2012 at 8:30 a.m., Zackery was apprehended at a relative's residence in Chicago, Illinois, by the U.S. Marshals - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Chicago Police assisted in transporting Zackery to Chicago Police Department's District 7 Head Quarters. The Sterling Police and Whiteside County Sheriff's Department picked Zackery up at Chicago Police Department and transported him to the Whiteside County Jail.

A man was shot in Sterling, Ill., last weekend and now police say they have a suspect.

On Saturday night, November 17th, 2012 at 9:32 p.m., the Sterling Police responded to a call of a gun shot fired in the area of 6th Avenue and East 5th Street.

Police say they found a man with a gunshot wound. They also found a bullet casing. Now police say they need help finding the shooter.

On Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 the Sterling Police Department obtained a warrant for the arrest of 35-year-old Octavius L. Zackery of Sterling, Ill. According to police, the suspect is wanted for the crime of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Zackery is described as being 5'04 and 124 pounds. Police say he sometimes goes by the nick names of Lamar, "T", "Ta", "Ock", and "ocky".

The victim of this incident was transported to the CGH Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of his injuries. No further information is available on his condition.
