Quad Citians got one last chance to stock up on their favorite Hostess snacks Saturday. Days after the shelves were empty and the stores closed, we have learned the Wonderbread stores in Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island received one last shipment of products.

People were lining up to buy twinkies and other snack cakes at the store on 53rd street in Davenport. Boxes were flying off the shelves and the parking lot was packed with people. Everything from bread to twinkies to ding dongs and even muffins were on sale for half price.

Workers tell us the company had some more products they needed to sell. They say once everything is sold, the stores will officially be closed for good. Customers we spoke with say they thought the popular snacks were gone for good here in the Quad Cities and they couldn't pass up filling their pantries with this last shipment.

"Instead doing black Friday shopping we are doing Hostess Saturday shopping," said Carl Wilson.

"I was just so excited, knowing the fact they are going out of business, wouldn't be able to get them anymore, I was just so excited to get out here and one of the first ones in the store," said Jermaine Cox.

"Sure it won't be long before they are gone,"said Bridget Hedgecock.

The 53rd street store did run out of twinkies, but managers say there are some other items left. They plan to open at 9:00 Monday morning and close whenever everything runs out. The stores in Rock Island, Rockingham road in Davenport and Moline also will open at 9:00 AM on Monday.
