Governor Branstad has ordered all flags in Iowa to be flown at half staff this weekend to honor an Iowa soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Sgt. Joseph Richardson of Algona was killed two weeks ago when his unit was attacked by an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. His funeral is planned for Saturday morning.

The governor has ordered flags in Iowa to be flown at half staff from 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 until Monday morning, December 3, 2012.
