Federal Sentences Handed Down For QCA Drug Criminals

The last two days have been very productive for the city of Davenport's anti drug campaign.

On Thursday November 29, 2012, four individuals were sentenced in Federal Court for drug and weapons crimes committed in Davenport and the surrounding area.

The Federal Cases were investigated by the Tactical Operations Bureau of the Davenport Police Department along with the Department of Narcotics Enforcement and the Drug Enforcement Agency. The following individuals were sentenced:

Devon Braet of Davenport, date of birth of December 19, 1989 was sentenced to eight and a half years along with Joshua Rankin of Davenport, date of birth April 3, 1989 who was sentenced to 15 years.

Both Rankin and Braet were distributing multiple ounces of crack cocaine. Rankin and Braet were charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Crack Cocaine and Possession of a Weapon in Furtherance of a Drug Crime.

Robert Bladel of Davenport, date of birth May 22, 1979 was sentenced to 48 months for his role in the distribution of multiple pounds of marijuana.

Bladel was also found to be in the possession of a sawed off shotgun. Bladel pled guilty to Marijuana Distribution and Possession of a Weapon in Furtherance of a Drug Crime.

Travis Meier of Davenport, date of birth September 6, 1991 was part of a three person methamphetamine manufacturing conspiracy on Kimberly Downs Rd in Davenport.

As a result of the investigation, 2 handguns and 2 rifles were seized along with a methamphetamine lab. Meier was also charged with Possession of a Weapon in Furtherance of a Drug Crime.

Meier was sentenced to 120 months. Two co-defendants in this case, Leslie Hardin and Steven Gruezmacher will be sentenced at a later date.

In addition to the above individuals, Charles Harrington was sentenced on Friday November 30, 2012 to 168 month's imprisonment.

Harrington is the last of those charged in a Conspiracy to Distribute Crack Cocaine investigation. The other defendants charged and already sentenced include the following;

Alon Shorter of Davenport, date of birth September 16, 1974 sentenced to 240 months in prison

Dale Shorter of Davenport, date of birth March 7, 1976 sentenced to 240 months in prison

Roscoe Lee of Davenport, date of birth July 5, 1980 sentenced to 190 months in prison

Charles Bateman of Davenport, date of birth October 7, 1967 sentenced to 168 months in prison

Charles Harrington of Davenport, date of birth October 6, 1971 sentenced to 168 months in prison

David Minor of Davenport, date of birth March 15, 1974 sentenced to 140 months in prison

Kadar Wall of Davenport, date of birth August 11, 1974 sentenced to 96 months in prison
