Update: Davenport police have identified the man who was killed in a construction accident, Dec. 11, 2012. Police say 56-year-old Thomas H. McLachlan of Davenport was grading a steep embankment when the dirt gave way causing his bulldozer to roll onto its side, trapping McLachland under the machine. The accident is being investigated as a motor vehicle crash.

Mclachland worked for Hawkeye Paving Company. In a posting on the company website, he had been the company's lead operator since 1987.  The posting also says "The entire company is saddened by the loss of a very valuable employee and a wonderful person who will be missed terribly by all of us."
