Update: Burlington police have identified the person who was found shot at a gas station Wednesday evening.  The victims is 20-year-old Brandon Rabe of West Burlington. Police say they were called  to the 1000 block of Maple St. on a report of a suspicious person standing along the street possibly carrying a handgun. While officers were headed that way, they were told that a gunshot victim was at the Circle K gas station located at 1012 Maple Street. Rabe suffered a single gunshot wound to the back and was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for treatment.

 Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to call the Burlington Police Department at (319) 753-8366 or the Greater Burlington Crime Stoppers Program at (319) 753-6835.

Burlington police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Emergency responders were called out to the Circle K gas station at Maple Street and Central Avenue in Burlington. One person was rushed to Great River Medical Center and treated for injuries.

KWQC-TV6 contacted the Burlington Police Department this morning. Officers confirmed the shooting, but wouldn't release any more information. We're asking more questions and will keep you updated.
