BETTENDORF -

Two arrests were made involving a burglary of the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 6400 Crow Creek Road, early Tuesday morning.

Antonio A. Smith, 31, from Louisville, Kentucky and Velicity S. Minton, 20, also from Louisville were seen fleeing the church with stolen property in a 1990 Ford Explorer.

Police told the duo to stop but Smith, the driver, drove to Riverdale where he drove off the road into a park and struck some landscaping rock.

Smith has been charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and speeding among other charges. Minton was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

The estimated damages totaled $1,600 and the cost of the stolen property is estimated at $4,700.

Both subjects were taken to Scott County Jail. Smith is being held on $22,900 bond and Minton is being held on $5,000 bond. The burglary is still under investigation.
