It might be a Monday but it's also New Year's Eve, and people are ready to celebrate. Hotels, restaurants and bars are booked. And the Loop bus is ready to help people get around.

The four buses will starting taking passengers at 6 PM all the way until 2:45 am. Transit coordinators say it was an easy decision, giving the public the option to travel safely on New Years Eve.

"We want to usher in the new year safely," said QC Transit Coordinator, Beck Passman.

The Loop services all downtown hotels in Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline and Rock Island. You can get on or off the bus at any designated loop stop or anywhere along its route in the downtown areas. Just hail one down!

"We'll have some increased capacity for the crowds and make it more efficient," Passman said. "Greater frequency and greater accommodation for all the people to use the service to get around to their different places and stay safe."

It costs $1 for a ride on the Loop. You can also purchase a one-day unlimited pass for $3.
