Shoppers in Coralville may have been surprised to find a gaping hole in the Scheel's sporting goods store entrance Sunday. It was the aftermath of a bizarre weekend crash.

Police say around 2:30 Sunday morning. A man drove an SUV straight into the store entrance at the Coral Ridge Mall. When officers got to the scene, they heard a gunshot inside the store.

Police say 23-year-old Joseph Moreno was behind the wheel. He was not seriously hurt. He faces drunk driving and burglary charges along with reckless use of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.

A KWQC-TV6 viewer sent this picture of the view from inside the store after the crash.
