A former Davenport Alderman is trying to get the assault charge against him dismissed.

Keith Meyer, 71, was charged with "assault while displaying a weapon" after police said he threatened his neighbor with a gun.

Meyer was Davenport's 3rd Ward Alderman for several terms. He lost re-election in 2007.
