UPDATE: According to court records, the judge denied Meyer's request to have his charges dismissed. His trial is scheduled for February 11, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.

A former Davenport Alderman is trying to get the assault charge against him dismissed.

Keith Meyer, 71, was charged with "assault while displaying a weapon" after police said he threatened his neighbor with a gun.

There is a hearing set for January 3rd on his motion to dismiss that charge.

Meyer was Davenport's 3rd Ward Alderman for several terms. He lost re-election in 2007.
