He bought his first commercial popcorn popper in 1986. He sold popcorn at a school fundraiser in the Spring of 1987. A few years later, Chuck Crispin purchased more equipment and opened a store in Davenport. He's known as Popcorn Charlie.

Now, it's a full fledged business, where Crispin and staff make more than one hundred flavors of popcorn. The names are interesting. Pucker Up. Inferno. and Cinammon Treat to name a few.

Popcorn Charlie is a generous man. Recently, he donated several boxes of popcorn to some of the troops in Afghanistan. He also sends popcorn to some breast cancer survivors. It is his way of giving back to the community.

Running a popcorn business does have its perks. Chuck says he gets to eat whatever he wants, whenever he wants.. Jokingly, he calls that "quality control."
