A landmark restaurant in Galesburg has suddenly closed. There's a sign on the door of Todd Erling's Chop House that says the restaurant shut down as of Jan. 1.
The 100 year old building was originally a meat packing plant and for 3 decades was called the Packing House Dining Company. But in June of last year, the owners of the Packing House transferred the business to chef Todd Erling. The inside of the restaurant was remodeled and a new menu introduced.
We don't know the reason for the closing. Our attempts to reach the owners were unsuccessful.
