Update 1-9-13: Morrison police say two people, a man and a woman, have been arrested in connection with a string of burglaries at Dollar General stores, including Morrison. They were arrested by Fulton police at a home near Thomson, Ill.

Earlier story:

Morrison Police are looking for suspects in the latest in a string of thefts at Dollar General Stores in the area. On Thursday, Jan. 3, at least two suspects made off with employee wallets from the Dollar General store in Morrison. Police say as one suspect distracted employees, the other entered the break room, stole employees' belongings, and then left the store. The employees' credit cards were later used at businesses in Clinton and possibly the Quad City area.

One suspect is described as a white woman in her mid to late 40s, 5 feet two inches tall weighing 120-130 pounds and wearing a long trench coat. The other suspect is described as an Asian man in his mid to late 30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall weighing 140-150 pounds wearing a black dress jacket and glasses.

Police say the theft may be related to other similar Dollar General burglaries that occurred in Fulton on December 31, and in Port Byron on January 3.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Morrison Police at 815-772-7659, your local law enforcement agency, or the Whiteside County Crime Stoppers at (877) 625-7867.
